Automatic wheel-blocking system AWB
Danger can strike at the loading site: If a docked lorry rolls or creeps away during the loading process and the lip of the dock leveller no longer rests securely on the loading surface of the vehicle, this can seriously injure people and cause considerable damage to property. When loading with industrial trucks, this danger is always present due to the braking and starting movements of the forklift. The automatic wheel-blocking system AWB offers protection against such accidents. As soon as a lorry is correctly positioned in front of the loading platform, thanks to the integrated wheel guide, it can be activated from inside the building at the touch of a button. The driver does not have to leave the vehicle. The automatic wheel-blocking system AWB automatically moves the blocking arm into the correct position and presses it against the rear wheel of the lorry. This prevents the vehicle from rolling away uncontrollably. A warning light ensures clear communication with the driver. As soon as it switches to green after loading and releasing the AWB, the driver can drive away safely. Thanks to a working range of 2825 mm, this vehicle restraint system can be used with any wheelbase. A blocking height of 300 mm ensures that mudguards or claddings are not touched. This makes the system suitable for all lorry types. A hydraulic cylinder moves the blocking unit in and against the direction of travel. It is completely integrated into the optimally dimensioned, stable hollow steel profile and is therefore protected against dirt and adverse weather effects. The automatic wheel-blocking system AWB is easy to install as it only requires a few anchor points and can compensate for slight unevenness in the ground thanks to its height adjustment of up to 50 mm. The electrical installation is also very convenient, with the slimline data cable replaceing the time-consuming connection of conventional multi-core inputs and outputs.
The AWB is rugged, reliable and available as a version for the right or left side of the loading site. The compact control ensures intuitive operation. It is equipped with an LED control light, a key switch for bridging if necessary and a piezo signal transmitter for acoustic warning in the event of a malfunction. A mobile website with a WiFi connection supports service personnel with settings, system updates and reading out service information. The automatic wheel-blocking system AWB can be used as a stand-alone solution, but can also be connected to the 560 S/T/V dock leveller control, e.g. to implement release functions.
