Good reasons for Hörmann industrial sectional doors

Quality down to the last detail

We think and act green

As a family business, we are very conscious of our responsibility to future generations and offer all industrial doors, operators, loading technology, construction project doors and perimeter protection systems for construction projects CO2-neutral upon request. The Hörmann climate protection strategy aims to reduce and avoid CO2 emissions. We cover 100% of our electrical power needs at all European production locations with purchased green electricity.
We also apply many other measures to reduce our consumption and save more than 75000 tonnes of CO2 each year. We work with ClimatePartner to offset the emissions that we do generate by supporting certified climate protection projects.

Fast service and spare parts

Our network of over 270 service technicians guarantees speed and flexibility. We are available around the clock.

Doors, operators and controls come with a guaranteed availability of 10 years for spare parts.

Smart initial start-up, smart operation

The Hörmann BlueControl app enables the initial start-up, service and maintenance of Hörmann industrial doors and dock levellers with the controls of the series 500. It connects to the control on site via Bluetooth and displays the settings clearly in plain text for the service technician. Status, error and diagnostic data from the system are read out together with the corresponding timestamps and can be viewed at a glance on the mobile device. For new installations, templates with all parameters for individual doors can be created and copied to identical systems for quick and easy initial start-up.

With the Hörmann NetControl gateway, several industrial door and dock leveller controls from the series 500 can be intelligently networked with each other and integrated into local networks. NetControl offers digital access to all relevant data such as the status of the doors and dock levellers, error messages, cycles, opening duration as well as maintenance instructions. This supports the planning of service calls, reduced downtime and optimised operating processes.

Low-wear door travel

The frame construction with its large double radius and optimally dimensioned rollers protects all of the mechanical door elements.

Frame construction

Quiet opening and closing

The standard twin rollers on the top section ensure quiet door travel, especially during closing. With optional 2-component rollers, travel noises are reduced by up to an additional 5 dB(A). This is a decisive advantage not only for doors in residential buildings.

Standard twin rollers

Corrosion protection

The optional fibreglass-reinforced plastic frame shoe prevents the door frame from coming into direct contact with moisture on the floor and provides lasting protection against corrosion. Together with the door’s threshold seal, the frame shoe makes for a threshold seal that is visually appealing.

Ultra-fast door opening

The WA 500 FU shaft operator has an impressive opening speed of up to 1 m/s, speeding up logistics processes and reducing thermal losses. The frequency converter control with soft start and soft stop also takes stress off the mechanical door elements, guaranteeing quiet door travel. With the ITO 500 FU operator developed especially for underground garages, the door achieves an opening speed of up to 0.5 m/s.

Movable centre support

The movable centre support interconnects building openings with up to three industrial sectional doors, enabling openings of up to 30 metres. Usage is particularly flexible and energy-efficient as the doors can also be opened individually. The centre supports are quickly and easily pushed to the side on a low-friction track behind the lintel to increase the size of the opening. The movable centre support is available for all industrial sectional doors with track application H.

Non-contact safety

Non-contact safety

Efficient monitoring of the closing edge increases safety. The WA 400 / ITO 400, WA 500 FU / ITO 500 FU operators with the VL1-LE leading photocell, which responds to movements and obstacles without any contact, reliably stopping the door if necessary – at no surcharge.

VL1-LE leading photocell (optional)

Energy-saving doors

The steel sectional doors and aluminium sectional doors with a depth of 67 mm and thermal break feature excellent thermal insulation, reducing your energy costs. With optional quadruple panes or climate glass, the thermal insulation value can be increased even further.

Efficient thermal insulation

Efficient thermal insulation

Well-insulated industrial doors are essential in heated buildings to keep energy losses to a minimum. The optional ThermoFrame forms a thermal break between the frame and brickwork, and the double seals ensure optimal door sealing. This improves the thermal insulation and airtightness of your door and the frame is also protected against corrosion.

Hand pulley for emergency operation

Thanks to the manual for emergency operation, operator-controlled industrial doors can be opened quickly and easily even in the event of a power failure, e.g. in fire and police stations. Operation is done using a manual with chain. The manual for emergency operation is available for all industrial sectional doors – also for doors with wicket door.

A permanently clear view

A permanently clear view

A special surface coating, similar to that used on car headlights, protects the Duratec glazing from scratches and damage caused by cleaning over the long term. This preserves the attractive appearance despite heavy use in tough industrial settings.

The Duratec glazing is available as standard for all sectional doors with clear synthetic glazing.

Harmonious design

Sectional doors, doors with wicket door, side doors and panels are designed in such a way that all elements have a harmonious overall appearance when they are fitted in a line of buildings. The rails of the aluminium frames are aligned to match – for both standard profiles and profiles with thermal break, both with depth 42 and depth 67.

High-quality, pre-installed facade panels made of ALUCOBOND® and TRESPA®METEON® offer exclusive design options that elegantly harmonise the entrance and facade.

Reliable break-in resistance equipment

The standard anti-lift kit functions mechanically and thus effectively protects your goods and machines during power outages.

You have the option of equipping sectional doors, wicket doors and side doors with proven and certified RC2 security features, both in depth 42 and depth 67.

Safe and convenient work processes

Safe and convenient work processes

The extra-flat stainless steel threshold rail of wicket doors facilitates work processes and reduces the risk of accidents. This reduces the risk of tripping and makes it considerably easier for carts to pass through. Under certain circumstances, wicket doors with a threshold rail can even be used as escape doors and as accessible entrances for people with disabilities.

Full passage height

Given the right door version and size, the clear passage height of the low headroom track application with swivel mechanism can reach the full door height, with just 200 mm of required headroom. This is particularly advantageous in the case of low ceiling heights such as in underground garages.

Required headroom of 200 mm

Suitable fitting solutions

With more than 30 track applications, industrial sectional doors can be optimally fitted in your building depending on the requirements. They include fitting variants for buildings where no load bearing capacity may be applied to the ceiling for structural reasons. Diagonal struts are used to support the horizontal tracks of the door on the frame instead of a ceiling suspension. Detailed solutions such as low-mounted spring shafts or adjustable components also facilitate maintenance and make the doors especially service-friendly.

Quick and simple torsion spring fitting

A connection bracket for shaft support and a spring tensioner makes torsion spring fitting quick, safe and easy with minimal effort.

Just one fitter is required to install the spring shaft using the connection bracket for shaft support without any additional tools. Thanks to the spring tensioner, only one additional cordless drill is required to tension the springs, which completely takes over the strenuous task. This reduces the workload for the fitter and saves up to 50% of the fitting time.

Smoke extraction concepts with industrial doors

Thanks to the AC72 air inlet control, door systems can be integrated into smoke extraction concepts to safely supply fresh air according to the required standards. After the fire alarm system has been triggered, the AC72 automatically ensures that the connected doors are opened to the previously defined air inlet position within 60 seconds. Additional ventilation flaps are not required.
