Insulated doors for cold rooms and freezers play a very important role in food and retail industries. They help to keep the temperature in the rooms constant, thus ensuring the quality and shelf life of the products stored there. Our product range is expanding to include insulated doors in hinged and sliding door designs. This means that cold rooms at temperatures as low as 0°C and freezer rooms at –28°C can be equipped by Hörmann.

Insulated doors for cold rooms

Our HID-80 cold room hinged doors and HIS-80 cold room sliding doors have been designed to be used at temperatures as low as 0°C. The robust and durable doors are ideal for closing off smaller cold storage facilities or larger cold stores in supermarkets, butcher's shops, the food industry or food logistics operations. Both doors have an 80 mm thick door leaf that is foamed with polyurethane (PU). Two surface finish variants are available: stainless steel (matt circular textured finish or polished finish) and galvanized steel (RAL 9002, optionally in RAL to choose). The doors are delivered with a maximum degree of prefabrication and can be quickly and easily fitted with a block frame. Since the doors are fitted in front of the wall opening, fitting is possible in all construction situations.

The HID-80 cold room hinged door is available in a maximum size of 1230 mm × 2300 mm. The co-extruded, all-round seal of the door leaf was specially developed for this door.
The HIS-80 cold room sliding door is available as a manually operated sliding door in a maximum size of 4000 mm × 2800 mm. When the door is closed, a specially developed seal also prevents energy loss. The door is designed with extra-large rollers for easy handling with little actuation force. You can also choose between a wall guide and bottom guide. In addition, cold room sliding doors can be combined with double-action doors: whilst the sliding door is open when goods are being stored or retrieved, the double-action door reduces airflow and loss of cooling. Both door versions can also be ordered with customised door sizes and as special solutions, depending on customer requirements.

Insulated doors for freezers

Freezers for temperatures down to –28°C can be equipped with our HID-120 freezer hinged doors and HIS-120 freezer sliding doors. Both provide reliable insulation thanks to their 120 mm thick PU-foamed door leaf. Air exchange is prevented when the door is closed.
The block frame, which is prepared at the factory, keeps fitting time to a minimum. The integrated, self-regulating frame heating prevents the sealing from freezing while minimising energy consumption. This means that the sealings remain intact for longer and the door can be opened easily at any time. The all-round seals of the freezer doors can be easily replaced in case of maintenance.

The HID-120 and the HIS-120 are available in two surface finish versions: stainless steel, with either a matt circular textured finish or polished finish, and galvanized steel in RAL 9002, optionally also in RAL to choose.
The HID-120 hinged door is available in a maximum size of 1230 mm × 2300 mm, while the HIS-120 sliding door comes in a maximum size of 4000 mm × 2800 mm. The sliding door is manually operated and can be equipped with a bottom guide or wall guide. It can be combined with Hörmann double-action doors. Whilst the HIS-120 sliding door is open when frozen goods are being retrieved or stored, the double-action door keeps the cold air in the freezer, reducing energy consumption.
